{"id":5308,"date":"2019-06-28T12:44:28","date_gmt":"2019-06-28T11:44:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/coinfomania.com\/?p=5308"},"modified":"2024-04-23T07:28:43","modified_gmt":"2024-04-23T06:28:43","slug":"bitsane-exchange-disappears-246000-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/coinfomania.com\/bitsane-exchange-disappears-246000-users\/","title":{"rendered":"246,000 Users Lose Their Crypto as Bitsane Exchange Disappears"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Ireland-based cryptocurrency exchange, Bitsane has reportedly disappeared, making way with hundreds of thousands of users\u2019 assets with it, according to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/hanktucker\/2019\/06\/27\/crypto-exchange-and-xrp-refuge-bitsane-vanishes-scamming-as-many-as-246000-users\/#764f5fe377fa\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">by Forbes on Thursday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Per the account holders, the issue began in May, following a series of failed attempts to withdraw <a href=\"https:\/\/coinfomania.com\/tag\/Bitcoin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bitcoin<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/coinfomania.com\/tag\/ripple\">XRP<\/a> and other <a href=\"https:\/\/coinfomania.com\/tag\/cryptocurrencies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cryptocurrencies<\/a> in their portfolio. The exchange&#8217;s support team wrote in their emails that withdrawal was \u201ctemporarily disabled due to technical reasons.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Later on June 17, Bitsane\u2019s website completely went offline, alongside with their <a href=\"https:\/\/coinfomania.com\/tag\/Facebook\">Facebook<\/a> and Twitter accounts disabled. Also, emails sent to Bitsane by the users now are returned undelivered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most of the victims on Facebook and <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/t.me\/bitsane\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Telegram<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> had compared their losses, with some claiming to have lost about $5,000. One of the victims in the U.S. disclosed he lost $150,000 worth of Bitcoin and to Bitsane disappearance, Forbes reported.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI was trying to transfer XRP out to bitcoin or cash or anything, and it kept saying \u2018temporarily disabled.\u2019 I knew right away there was some kind of problem,\u201d he said, adding that, the tickets weren&#8217;t pending and he couldn&#8217;t access the exchange either.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the data on Bitsane website, the exchange had over 246,000 registered users as of May 30, with $7 million daily trading volume on March 31, according to MarketCap.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In November 2016, Bitsane reportedly went live as Bitsane LP, registered in Dublin under CEO Aidas Rupsys, and Dmitry Prudnikov as its Chief Technology Officer. Neither Rupsys nor Prudnikov could be reached for comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bitsane Limited filed for dissolution on May 16, because &#8220;Zmitrovich wasn\u2019t doing anything with it,&#8221; and Bitsane registration was up for renewal. Some of the victims believe Zmitrovich as part of the scam due to the public filing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, Zmitrovich said the accusations against him are unfounded. He was unable to speak with Prudnikov for five months now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI&#8217;m sick and tired of these accusations,\u201d Zmitrovich said. \u201cThis company didn\u2019t even have a bank account.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meanwhile, in a similar development, Coinfomania <a href=\"https:\/\/coinfomania.com\/bitrue-exchange-hacked-funds-would-be-returned\/\">reported<\/a> yesterday that Singapore-based crypto exchange, Bitrue lost $3.6 million to a security breach.
